Four Leitrim players named on Lidl LGFA NFL Division 4 Team of the Year

Four Leitrim players have been named on the Division 4 Team of the league after the LGFA announced the Teams of the 2026 Lidl National Football Leagues.

Leitrim, defeated by Carlow in the Division 4 Final last Sunday in Birr, sees St Mary’s Kiltohgert’s Jasmine Maye, Mohill’s Dearbhaile Beirne and Glencar Manorhamilton duo Leah Fox and Muireann Devaney earn accolades for their performances over the courts of the year.

The Teams of the 2026 Lidl National Football Leagues are selected by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association’s All-Star committee with Carlow leading the way on the Division 4 team with eight players selected along with Offaly’s Nicole Buckley and Caoimhe Lynam and Sligo’s Claire Dunne.

The Carlow contingent include Division 4 Player of the Match Cliodhna Ni Se, Sara Doyle and Edel Hayden in attack, both midfielders Roisin Bailey and Caoimhe O’Neill, keeper Nicole Hanley and defenders Niamh Forde and Ruth Bermingham.

Champions Cork and runners-up Galway lead the way on the Division 1 selection, with five players each included.  Waterford have three players selected, with one apiece from Armagh and Kerry. 

In this year’s Division 2 selection, champions Donegal lead the way with six players named. 

There are five players from runners-up Cavan, three from Mayo and one from Tyrone. 

On the Division 3 Team of the League, champions Louth dominate the selection with nine players included. There are four from runners-up Antrim, also promoted to Division 2, and one each from Down and Fermanagh. 

The winners will receive their awards at Croke Park on Friday, April 24.
