Leitrim's dreams of Lidl LGFA NFL Division 4 glory were shattered on Sunday evening in Kinnegad as Offaly won an extra-time thriller 2-16 to 3-10 in a game replete with controversy. With Ballinamore Sean O'Heslins' Emma McGovern suffering a serious injury in the second period of extra-time that held the game up for well over an hour, Leitrim just weren't able to generate the scores in added time to book their place to the final.
