Carrigallen’s Martin Dolan has been appointed as the new manager of the Leitrim Ladies Senior team for the 2014 season

Martin was appointed at the Ladies County Board Convention on Friday, December 13, and the former St. Joseph’s Ladies manager will joined by Assistant manager Brid Dolan, a native of Mullhaoran and former former Cavan Ladies physical trainer.

Martin, who plays club football with Carriagallen and has a background in sports and fitness training, wil oversee Leitrim’s campaign in 2014. The Ladies Board welcomed Martin & Brid on board and wished them and the team the very best of luck for the coming season. Secretary Clare Noone has requested that clubs please forward the names of their players who are interested in joining the Leitrim Ladies panel to her as soon as possible.

Regardless of lack of silverware on the table for County teams, 2013 was a successful year in club football with some very exciting Club football played.

Chairperson Sinead Quinn paid tribute to all the Clubs who were successful in 2013 especially the winners of the underage championship finals, many of which came down to the closing minutes and seconds.

There are a few positions yet to be filled on the executive and the Board have asked that all clubs meet and put forward a member of their club to hold a position on the Executive of the County Board. It is very important that all clubs are represented on the executive.

Chairperson Sinead Quinn thanked our very generous sponsors throughout the 2013. Our main sponsor The Landmark Hotel, the Centra Stores across the county (Baxters in Mohill, Gibbons in Drumshanbo and McCrann’s in Carraigallen), McWeeney’s Buses, Scollan’s Gala Drumshanbo, Donohues Supervalu in Ballinamore and also Dromahair Primary Health Centre.

Finally, the Leitrim Ladies Board would wish all of our members a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
