Leitrim Ladies pipped at the post

For the second week in a row, Leitrim Ladies suffered a narrow one point loss that would have guaranteed them a place in the Bord Gais League Division 3 Semi-Finals, this time being pipped by home side Down in Saval last Sunday.

Down 1-11

A win coupled with a Wicklow loss to Wexford would have seen Leitrim into the semi-finals and although Wicklow did lose heavily, a one point loss to Down ended the ladies league campaign.

Leitrim started the stronger with the midfield duo of Sarah McLoughlin and Sinead McWeeney dominating from the start and getting the ball into the forwards first time.
