Incredible it may be but the opening 12 minutes featured just one point for the champions but once they found their range, nothing Kiltubrid could do was able to stop them as the north Leitrim men strolled their way through this game.
Just as incredible is the fact that Glencar/Manor kicked nine wides and over-played quite a few good chances as they found it all too easy against a Kiltubrid team who battled but lacked the strength in depth to trouble the champions.
The north Leitrim men would almost certainly have preferred a tougher and more searching challenge as they go in search of a fourth title on the trot and it will be hard for them to truly know if they are firing on all cylinders this season.
Their defence, superbly marshalled by the excellent Adrian O’Flynn and Michael Poinard, was in command throughout while their midfield and attack were always on top, Anthony McDonald, James Glancy and Adrian Croal catching the eye.
For Kiltubrid, it is hard to take too many positives from this encounter – Karol Scollan, Patrick Moolick, Shane Foley, John McGovern, Emmet Lee and Fergal Meehan offered stout resistance but Kiltubrid face a period of rebuilding in the years ahead.
