Extra week will add to the tension

Melvin Gaels captain David McSharry believes that the delay of a week in deciding the destination of this year’s Connacht Gold Senior Championship title will only add to the excitement and tension of the big day.

Melvin Gaels captain David McSharry believes that the delay of a week in deciding the destination of this year’s Connacht Gold Senior Championship title will only add to the excitement and tension of the big day.

“I suppose it has dragged out an extra week but we’re looking forward to it,” said David “The last few weeks, everybody is kind of buzzing so I think the last week to go, the excitement will kind of kick in.

“I suppose you have it in your head that it is the 7th but from a personal point of view, it can’t come quick enough. But it is an extra week, it is no big deal here or there and there is great excitement. I’d say both teams are itching to get at each other and I’d say there’d be that little bit of extra tension come the seventh, it should make for a good game.”
