Billy delighted as Gaels deliver whole team display

Many managers would try to find some area that needs improvement, even after a big win, but Melvin Gaels manager Billy Gavigan was more than happy with what he felt was a whole game performance from his entire team last Sunday in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada.

“Thrilled with the result,” Billy told the Observer after last Sunday’s demolition of Coolaney Mullinabreena in the AIB Connacht Club Intermediate Championship First Round clash, adding quite happily “We played as a team today, we played the whole game.”

The ability of Melvin Gaels to blow teams out of the game in the second half has seen Billy call for his team to perform consistently over the hour and the Melvin Gaels manager was delighted with the performance of his team over the entire 60 plus minutes.

“Some days we come out and play the first half and don’t play the second. Other days, we come out and play the second after not playing the first, but today we played the whole game and we played as a unit.

“They were told today that these boys are a young side, don’t give them any space or they’ll destroy you so they didn’t and you couldn’t knock them for anything they done.”
