Mickey Moran has been reappointed as the manager of the Leitrim Senior Football team for a fourth year after a special meeting of the Leitrim GAA County Board on Tuesday evening.
The re-appointment of Moran was heavily backed by delegates at Tuesday’s meeting with only four votes against the re-appointment of the Derry native and selector Brian Breen after County Board Chairman Joe Flynn revealed that fellow selector Martin McGowan had stepped down from his role.
Mr Flynn revealed that he had consulted with all members of the panel who had travelled to Newry for the All-Ireland Qualifier and there had been 100% approval for the reappointment of Moran.
However, some delegates took issue with Moran’s criticism of players who had been dropped from the panel for disciplinary reasons and Mr Flynn said that all players deemed good enough for the panel, including those who had been dropped, would be invited into next year’s squad.
