Melvin Gaels got the better of their old rivals Glencar/Manorhamilton in last Sunday’s Connacht Gold Senior Championship Final in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada as they won a tense encounter 2-7 to 0-7.

Melvin Gaels got the better of their old rivals Glencar/Manorhamilton in last Sunday’s Connacht Gold Senior Championship Final in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada as they won a tense encounter 2-7 to 0-7.

The bid to win an unprecedented five in a row fell just short for Glencar/Manorhamilton, while for Melvin Gaels Sunday’s win completed a remarkable turn in fortunes as just two years ago they were relegated from Senior to Intermediate football.
