Leitrim ladies reach league final with win over Down

Leitrim ladies will contest the Bord Gais Division 3 final on May 12 when they face Westmeath in Parnell Park, Dublin. Leitrim secured their place in the final after they defeated Down in last Sunday’s semi-final, winning 1-11 to 0-7 in Clones.

When Leitrim and Westmeath met previously in the league in Ballinamore, Leitrim emerged victorious 1-12 to 1-10. This was Westmeath’s only defeat in the round robin phase of the league as the sides both finished level at the top of the table, along with Armagh, with 18 points from seven games.
