Minor double still on for St. Manchan’s

St. Manchan’s dreams of a championship and League double are still very much alive after the Mohill, Eslin and Cloone combination proved far too strong for Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s in last Friday’s delayed Semi-Final.

St. Manchan’s were always in control of the contest as they led 0-10 to 0-4 at the halftime interval last Friday in Cloone before Eslin’s Niall Beirne burst into life, scoring three goals to propel the favourites into the final on a scoreline of 4-15 to 0-5.

St. Manchan’s will meet the Fenagh Gortletteragh combination in the Final, due to be played before the County Senior Final although that may come under pressure if Gortletteragh reach the Intermediate Final after next Sunday’s Semi-Final replay against Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher.

Fenagh/Gortletteragh are also going for somewhat of a unique double as Gortletteragh pipped Fenagh earlier in the year in the Minor League 9-a-side Final although St. Manchan’s will start as favourites for the final after a 2-12 to 1-5 victory over the Fenagh and Gortletteragh combination in the round robin stages of the competition.
