Leitrim can draw inspiration from Roscommon’s Connacht Semi-Final display ahead of the Green & Gold Qualifier clash with Down according to manager Sean Hagan.

Sean’s immediate reaction to drawing Down out of the hat was “I suppose it is the hardest draw possible, to take on Down in Newry. We were hoping for a home draw but it is outside of our control and we must try to keep positive.”

But motivating his troops will see Sean take an unusual angle - “I think we can take encouragement from Roscommon’s performance against Mayo. Roscommon had a team that in last year’s All-Ireland Final beaten and only for a few basic errors, they should have beaten them. I think that Roscommon’s performance can give us great hope.

“The guys will break up for the club championship this week but we will be back up and running next Monday and we will be looking to put in a massive performance on the day. Nobody in the country will be giving us any chance.”
