Aughnasheelin might not be known as a hot bed of hurling but last Saturday, brothers Paul, Fergal and Joe Earley from Aughnasheelin lined out with the Leitrim team in the Connacht Hurling League in Ballinamore.

Members of the Ballinamore Hurling club, the brothers were joined on the starting team by fellow Ballinamore clubmates Kevin O’Connor (Sean O’Heslin’s), Michael Domican (Aughnasheelin) and Morgan Quinn (Aughawillan) with Aughawillan’s Pearse Dolan coming on as a substitute. Unfortunately, Leitrim lost the match against Mayo 2-13 to 2-5. Photo by Willie Donnellan.
