Sligo-Leitrim Count Seven: Chris MacManus (SF) big winner in redistributed votes

Count seven was declared just before 2pm on December 1. We're seeing some developments, though still no one has been elected.

Chris MacManus was the big winner of Gino O'Boyle's distributed votes in this count, securing a whopping 655 votes boosting him up to 6042 votes. There are now only 17 votes between him and Fianna Fáil's Eamon Scanlon.

Depending on how transfers fare in later counts, there's an outside possibility we could be seeing a second Sinn Féin seat in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency. However, Fianna Fáil candidates will mostly transfer to Eamon Scanlon.

Marian Harkin (IND), also did well on distributed votes, securing an additional 180 bringing her to 5,130 votes.

Nessa Cosgrove (LAB) was eliminated in count seven. Her 2,846 votes will be redistributed in count eight.

The following are votes for remaining candidates after count seven:

Frank Feighan (+39) - 9317

Martin Kenny (+258) - 8431

Michael Clarke (+88) - 6785

Eamon Scanlon (+32)  - 6059

Chris MacManus (+655) - 6042

Edel McSharry (+71) - 4673

Marian Harkin (+180)  - 5130

Paddy O'Rourke (+19) - 4329

Marie Casserly (168+) - 2894

Nessa Cosgrove (+319) - 2846 (eliminated)
