Leitrim's Paul Keaney and Donal Casey who starred for UL in their Sigerson Cup victory on Tuesday evening
Leitrim's Paul Keaney, fresh off being voted Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup Player of the Week last week, joined with his county teammate Donal Casey in helping the University of Limerick to victory over SETU Carlow in Tuesday's third round tie in Limerick.
The 4-10 to 1-4 victory over a disappointing SETU side booked UL's place in the Sigerson Cup Quarter-Finals which will take place next week, ensuring a busy schedule for the Leitrim duo with Andy Moran's team taking on Waterford in the opening round of the Allianz NFL Division 4 campaign next Sunday in Avant Money Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada.
Keaney won the Electric Ireland Player of the Week award on foot of his four point display in the first round victory over UCC but the Limerick college then fell to a penalty shootout loss to TU Dublin. Both Keaney and Leitrim Gaels clubman Casey have featured in all three games for last year's Sigerson Cup Finalists.
