Leitrim deaths - Friday, March 24, 2023

Anne Maxwell, Empor, Ballynacargy, Co. Westmeath and formerly of Diffier, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim - March 22, 2023, (peacefully) in the tender care of the staff and nurses at St. Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan. Anne will deeply missed by her loving sisters Breege, Thomasina and Grace, brothers Paul and Liam, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and her wide circle of close friends. Reposing at Shaws Funeral Home, Bishopsgate St., Mullingar, on Friday, March 24, from 4pm. until 6pm. Burial will take place on Saturday at 1pm in Knockma, Woodland Burial Ground, Castlehacket, Belclare, Tuam, Co. Galway, Eircode H54 E126. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to St. Camillus Nursing Centre. Please be advised to bring/wear appropriate footwear for the burial ground. 

Margaret Kelly (née Twomey), Boneil, Keshcarrigan, Leitrim - The death has occurred of Margaret Kelly (nee Twomey) Boneil, Keshcarrigan, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co.Leitrim, Thursday 23rd March 2023 peacefully at her residence. Predeceased by her husband James. Sadly missed by her sons Michael and Seán, daughter Noreen Keaney, son in law Tom Joe, daughter in law Pauline, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Reposing at Smiths Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore on Friday evening from 5pm until 7.30pm followed by removal to St.Mary's Church, Foxfield arriving at 8pm. Funeral mass on Saturday at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Fenagh Abbey Cemetery.

John Tom Cunningham, Killeveha, Cloone, Leitrim - Tuesday, 21st March 2023, peacefully at University Hospital Galway. Predeceased by his parents; Edward and Ellen, his brother; Eddie and his sister; Eileen. John Tom will be sadly missed and remembered by his loving wife; Kathleen, brother; James (Mary), sisters; Patricia (Des), Jane, Rose Ann, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Remains will arrive to St. Mary’s Church, Cloone for funeral mass on Friday at 12 noon followed by burial to the adjoining cemetery. House private outside of reposing times please. Michael McKeon, Fenaghbeg, Fenagh, Leitrim - Wednesday, March 22nd 2023, peacefully at The North West Hospice, Sligo. Recently predeceased by his beloved wife Bridie, his parents Patrick & Mary, his brother Fr. Jimmy, sisters Mae & Josie and also his granddaughter Ellen. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Deirdre, Orla & Nollaig, his grandchildren Colm & Carla (who are both abroad), Conor, Roisin, Tom, Aoibhinn, Seán & Caillin, sons-in-law Tommy, Aidan & Seamus, brother-in-law Joe, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours & friends. Removal from his home on Friday morning, arriving at St. Mary’s Church, Foxfield for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Fenagh Abbey Cemetery. House private, please. Family flowers only. Francis (Francie) O'Neill, Gortletteragh, Leitrim - Wednesday, 22nd of March 2023, peacefully at Sligo University Hospital. Predeceased by his mother; Bridget (Bea) and his sister; Olivia (Harte). Francie will be sadly missed and remembered by his loving family, wife; Carmel, daughters; Kate and Laura, son; Peter, father; Francis Snr, sisters; Teresa, Josephine (O’Brádaigh), Geraldine (Mulligan), Lorraine (Dorrigan) and Evelyn, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, his large circle of friends and neighbours. Francie will repose at his residence on Friday, 24th March, from 3.00pm to 5.00pm (Eircode N41 TV70) with removal to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Mohill for 7.00pm. Funeral mass on Saturday (25th March) at 12 noon followed by private cremation. John Fullerton, Clontarf, Dublin / Ballyshannon, Donegal - on 20th March, 2023 (peacefully) after a short illness. John, beloved husband of Patricia (Pat) and beloved son of the late Mick and Sally and brother of the late Mary. Sadly missed by his loving wife, extended family, relatives and friends. Removal on Friday morning (24th March) to St. Gabriel’s Church, Dollymount, arriving for 10.30am .Requiem Mass, with Funeral thereafter to Dardistown Crematorium.

Una McHugh, Tawnytaskin & Abbeytown, Boyle, Roscommon - on the 21st of March 2023, at Drumderrig Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her parents John and Winifred McHugh, brother John and sister Margaret McLoughlin. Una will be sadly missed by her loving sister, Annie Kelly (Ballinafad), nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, relatives and neighbours. Una will lie in repose at Mahon’s Funeral Home, Boyle (Eircode F52 ND23) on Friday, the 24th of March, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Arriving at Saint Joseph’s Parish Church, Boyle on Saturday the 25th, at 12:00 for Mass of the Resurrection. Interment afterwards in Assylinn Old Cemetery. Seán Moran, Crossna, Boyle, Roscommon - Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the tender care of the staff of St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Predeceased by his father Tom, his mother Agnes, and his brothers Paddy and Joseph. Beloved husband of Joan (née Moynihan) and dear father of Kim. Seán will be greatly missed by Joan, Kim and Kim’s husband Ross, by his sisters May (Crossna) Bridie Plummer (London) Anna Sheerin (Cleen) and Rita Moran (Templeogue) by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family and a large circle of friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  in St. Patrick’s Church, Crossna on Friday afternoon (March 24th) at 1 p.m. followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Anne Patricia Mullan, 24 Forest View, Boyle, Roscommon / Castlebar, Mayo / Milford, Donegal - Peacefully, in the exceptional care of the Mayo Hospice, Castlebar. Predeceased by her mother Dympna and father Harry. Survived by her heartbroken family, sisters Geraldine (Boyle), Helen (UK), brother Harry (USA), brother-in-law Andrew, her nieces, nephews, neighbours and wide circle of friends. Desmond Lynch, Woodbrook House, Darrary, Carrick-on-Shannon, Roscommon / Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim / Belmullet, Mayo - 12th February 2023 (peacefully) surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his wife Kathleen, brothers Larry and Jim, sister Bridie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving daughters Una and Threasa, sons-in-law Steve and Colin, adored grandchildren Scarlett, Isabella, Alexandra, Esme, Miles, brothers Pat (Galway), Tony (Cork), Austin (Dublin), Eamon (Galway), Benny (Bristol), sisters Mary (Newtownforbes), Ann (Jersey) Bernadette (Bristol), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours, and many friends in England and Ireland.
