Cllr Ita Reynolds Flynn has called for traffic calming measures at the Health Centre in Carrigallen.

Leitrim County Council stated that they will carry out a speed detection survey at this location to investigate if there is justification for additional traffic calming measures. The council will also request An Garda Siochana to police the speed limit in this area. Cllr Paddy O’Rourke supported the motion, but not the idea of Gardai handing out speeding tickets in Carrigallen!

Council engineer Darragh O’Boyle joked, “Maybe we should have left the potholes there, ”indicating the road was recently finished with black top tar.
