On Tuesday, May 2 at 7pm, The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon will host a free screening of the reflective modern classic, ‘Living.’
Led by Bill Nighy, Living is a film that will leave you reflecting on the things you appreciate in your own life.
Set in post-war London, Mr Williams (Bill Nighy) is a diligent but rather dour bureaucrat, working in a council.
One day, he’s given a devastating prognosis: he only has a few months left to live. Stunned by the news, he abandons his usual routine.
Chance encounters with a rebellious writer and a youthful colleague help Mr Williams discover a whole new perspective on both his life and work.
This screening is part of May Film Tour organised by access>CINEMA and the Irish Film Institute to coincide with the Bealtaine Festival.
This year the Bealtaine Festival will end their 3-year theme of In(ter)dependence – inspired by Ireland's centenary as a sovereign nation and also in recognition of our interdependence with each other and the natural world.
This screening is supported by Lionsgate Films and Arts Council of Ireland.
