Eslin GAA Healthy Club have been nominated by Leitrim County Council for the Pride of Place Awards 2023.
The Pride of Place awards is an annual competition organised by peace building charity Co-operation Ireland and sponsored by IPB insurance. It is Ireland's largest community awards competition.
Established to promote and celebrate the best in community development, the awards recognise the selfless efforts of people in making their local areas better places to live.
Pride of Place is an All Island competition whereby local authorities from across the island of Ireland nominate groups in their communities who they feel have made a significant contribution to improving their neighbourhood, working collectively.
Eslin Healthy Club Officer Lisa Mulligan said that the club and the whole Eslin community were delighted to be nominated by Leitrim County Council for this competition , having built up the club over the past three years since they joined the GAA Healthy Clubs initiative.
The work is ongoing and this nomination strengthens the resolve to keep going.
The club are in the Community Wellbeing Initiative category and the IPB Pride of Place Gala Dinner and Awards ceremony takes place on November 10 in the Armagh City Hotel hosted by the Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council.
