Former Leitrim Marina Hotel owners say farewell

The former owners of the Leitrim Marina Hotel, Robert and Caroline Rigney, have said farewell and thank you to everyone who has supported them over the years. The hotel was sold as of May 31, 2023 to the  owners of The Bush Hotel. 

“The hotel group has many properties in Ireland and the UK and we hope the scale of operation will bring new opportunities to develop the operation of Leitrim Marina Hotel,” Robbie and Caroline said.

Caroline and Robbie Rigney and family operated the hotel, initially leasing it in 2009/2010 and then purchasing the property in 2013. “It has traded successfully ever since providing an excellent waterside venue for local people and tourists to enjoy along the banks of the River Shannon and Shannon/Erne Waterway.”

“Winning awards and reviews for customer and food service, we would like to thank all the staff who assisted us over the years, many remaining with us since the beginning.”

“We would especially like to thank all our loyal and supportive customers, who we got to know really well over the years, the people of Leitrim Village for always making us ex Dubs feel so welcome, the people of Leitrim in general are a national treasure, always so welcoming.”

“We have always felt support over the years as we developed this family business,” they said.

The hotel has been closed since last Autumn while six new bedrooms were added on and the original 10 bedrooms were renovated.

“We leave a three star Failte Ireland approved with 16 designer ensuite bedrooms,  in a thriving and developing tourist location and we look forward to its future re-opening,” Robbie and Caroline said.
