Riona McKeon and her two brothers Cian and Fionnan held a fundraiser in Kiltubrid on August 6 in memory of their parents Marian and Damian McKeon.

They raised money to split evenly between two charities very close to their hearts - The North West Hospice and The Irish Heart Foundation.

“Our dad sadly passed suddenly in 2018 and we lost mam last August to cancer. So to mark their 1st and 5th anniversaries we held this family fun day to honour them and raise money for two special charities,” said Riona.

“Everyone has been affected by cancer or heart issues one way or another so we were so glad to raise money and hopefully help others who have been through or are going through similar situations as we have, because it’s not easy at all, to say the least,” she added.

It was a very special day in Pairc Cill Tiobraid, and the turnout was huge.

They raised over €22,000 which they split evenly with the two charities.

On Wednesday, August 23, they were in Sligo at the North West Hospice to do the presentation of cheques to both the Hospice and The Irish Heart Foundation.
