Old Garda station in Leitrim village gets new life as home of local development group

Keys to the former Garda Station in Dromahair have been handed over to a local community development group. 

Leitrim County Council's interim Chief Executive, Joseph Gilhooly, handed keys to the Dromahair Development Association (DDA_ last Wednesday (November 21) after they signed a lease with Leitrim County Council. 

The DDA have put in an enormous effort, over an extended period of time, into securing both funding and planning permission to develop the vacant property and bring it back into use. 

The building will now undergo an extensive refurbishment in the coming months to provide a much-needed community hub.
