Cllr Paddy Farrell
Cllr Paddy Farrell called on Leitrim County Council to give urgent attention to the road L3433-0 that leads from Proughlish up to Kilnagross school.
“There is forestry on the left hand side as you travel in the direction of the school and foliage and trees are overhanging the road, leaving this section very dangerous for traffic,” he said.
A report by the roads office assured members that the section would write out to the land owner along the public road L-3433-0 in the townland Corderry (Peyton) and “advise them of their civic duty to maintain the hedges and trees.”
Cllr Farrell was told the land owner would have 14 days to respond and “if they don't respond, something will be done with it and the landowner will be sent the bill.”
Disabled parking bay
Meanwhile, Cllr Farrell also called on Leitrim County Council to review the disabled parking bay across from the AIB Bank in Carrick-on-Shannon and to remove some of the bollards that are causing difficulty for users.
A report by the Capital Projects Office said the situation has been reviewed and one of the bollards will be removed to give extra space for users.
