Locals fear being rear ended if turning lane not installed

Locals fear being rear ended if turning lane not installed

Cllr Padraig Fallon

Cllr Padraig Fallon once again asked that the possibility of a turning lane off N16, L4141 Glencar be examined.
"This has been mentioned periodically over a number of years and that's a very busy road. Local people need this lane because when they pull towards the broken white line in the centre of the road, there are cars coming up behind them and they feel it's dangerous and they'll be rear ended," he said.

He was speaking at the latest Manorhamilton municipal district meeting.

A report by the Roads office said that the council will review the TII standards and assess the criteria needed for a right hand turning lane at that location.

Cllr Fallon added: "Hopefully we'll see something happen here in the future."
