Darragh Rooney's ten point haul against Waterford in Fraher Field on Sunday has seen the Leitrim forward voted onto the GAA.ie Team of the Week, one of three Division 4 players to get the nod after the first round of the 2024 Allianz National Football League.
The former Melvin Gaels player, who now lines out with St Jude's in Dublin, was selected in the full-forward position after his ten point tally in the 2-17 to 1-5 victory over Waterford. He is joined on the team by fellow Division 4 players Killian Roche of Laois in goals and Mikey Bambrick of Carlow in the full-back slot.
Incredibly Roche scored five points for the O'Moore county, including three from play, in their 1-12 to 2-7 victory over Longford last Saturday while Bambrick played a major role in Carlow's 3-10 to 1-14 win over Tipperary.
