Modern Calligraphy for Beginners workshop with Eithna Joyce comes to The Dock for a fresh and contemporary approach to the age-old skill of beautiful writing on April 13 from 11am to 1.30pm.

During this workshop you will be introduced to the joys of writing with dip nib and ink by learning the basic techniques and alphabet of modern calligraphy, practising strokes and composing letterforms, words and phrases in a beautiful script.

Eithna Joyce is an artist from Co. Galway specialising in painting, collage and bookmaking, and has exhibited in several group and solo shows.

With a life-long interest in calligraphy, she introduced modern calligraphy to Ireland in 2015 and has been sharing her knowledge and passion for this style of penmanship ever since, through group workshops and private tutorials.

The workshop fee is €65 and includes a kit of all you need for the class and to continue practising at home. No previous experience necessary.
