A total of €183,550 has been allocated to sports clubs throughout Co Leitrim for equipment needs.
Catherine Martin T.D., Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, and Thomas Byrne T.D., Minister of State for Sport, Physical Education and the Gaeltacht, have announced over €26 million in equipment grants under the latest round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (‘SCEP’).
The allocations announced today under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme are in response to equipment-only applications which sporting organisations submitted.
Over 900 sports groups were successful in their applications for various types of equipment which will be of practical benefit to multiple sports organisations, their members, and athletes across Ireland.
€183,550 has been allocated for Co Leitrim under the scheme to fund a variety of clubs across the county.

Welcoming the funding, Deputy Frank Feighan said, “I want to congratulate all of the successful applicants and I wish to pay tribute to the volunteers who put in the hard work in preparing the application which I am sure took a lot of time.”
Bláithín Gallagher, Chairperson of the North West Greens and Local Election Candidate for the Manorhamilton LEA said, “This unprecedented funding injects vitality into Leitrim's sporting landscape, empowering local organisations to foster a culture of athleticism and community engagement. It underscores the government's pledge to nurture sporting talent and enhance access to quality facilities, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to thrive in their chosen sport.
“I am especially delighted to see the success of the applications from my own LEA, with the awards to Drumkeeran, Dromahair and Manorhamilton sporting organisations to enable them to continue providing a great service to the community.”
Further allocations under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme, including those for capital works, and capital works tied with an equipment component, will be announced later.
