Maeve Reynolds, the new Fine Gael councillor in the Carrick-on-Shannon area, thanked everyone for putting their faith in her.

“I'm delighted to be a young female representative and a representative for young families in the whole Carrick-on-Shannon area. I got a vote in every box in the municipal district and I hope to represent all the people of the entire municipal district,” Maeve said.

“I'm looking forward to raising all the issues I heard on the doorsteps and putting them forward. The issue I ran on myself is childcare; I heard a lot of stories of people trying to tie together all the different forms of childcare and I'd hope that I could do something about that on Leitrim County Council.
