Drumkeerin Drama Group’s play production of “The Maiden Aunt” will be on stage in Drumkeerin Community Centre on Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28 starting each night at 8.00pm. Doors open at 7.15pm.
“The Maiden Aunt” is a hilarious side splitting comedy by Jimmy Keary. People still talk of Drumkeerin Drama Group’s exceptionally funny comedy production last year of “I’m the One for You," also by Jimmy Keary. Extra seating had to be sorted each show and the play ended each night to standing ovations.
Again, Andy Redican is the director. He says that over the 57 years he has been in Drumkeerin Drama Group productions, he recalls, "Wonderful productions; some tragedy, some serious, some comedy-tragedy and others, great up lifting comedies."
He feels certain that audiences will find this years play "The Maiden Aunt,” will be even funnier than last year’s - the funniest ever!
Drumkeerin Drama regrets that due to unforeseen circumstances, the proposed productions on May 24, 25 and 26 had to be postponed for over five weeks. He said the delay will be, "Well worth the wait, with really, really enjoyable nights awaiting all who were disappointed."
Anyone interested is advised to come early.
