The Solas Art Gallery, located at The Island Theatre, Ballinamore is pleased to announce the opening of our Summer Group Exhibition.

Opening on Friday, July 12, at 7:30pm and showing until August 30.

Marian O'Donoghue - Summertime

The Summer Group Exhibition showcases a wonderful mix of art, including vibrant paintings, mix media, ceramics, exquisite textile and intricate 3D sculptures.

This dynamic exhibition, set within The Island Theatre, in our light and spacious gallery, features the works of both emerging and established artists, each contributing pieces that reflect their own unique style and artistic journey.

The art works that have been curated for this select group exhibition, include paintings rendered in oils, acrylics, and watercolours. Paintings, ranging from realism to abstraction, which will captivate viewers with their bold use of colour and diverse styles.

Small sculptures, scattered throughout our exhibition, add a three-dimensional dynamic to the space. From figurative to loose and expressive in nature, each work tells a story, inviting spectators to explore the emotions and themes conveyed by the artists.

This exhibition not only celebrates the talents of individual artists but also our sense of community and shared inspiration. It is a testament to the rich tapestry of contemporary art and a delightful experience.

When our Irish weather has let you down, come to us for your summer hit. The gallery is filled with the essence of Ireland, and we can offer you a sunny afternoon inside viewing the bright and colourful art in The Solas Art Gallery.

Join us on Friday night, July 12, at 7:30pm when Leitrim writer Gerry Bohan will do the honour of opening our Summer Group Exhibition. Seamus O’Rourke said of Gerry:

“Gerry Bohan sees the world like no other – he has a knack of conjuring memories and long-forgotten emotions”.

Opening night is sure to be full of fun and stories.
