Having sealed All-Ireland gold for his potatoes, Dromahair's Michael McGoldrick followed up with another All-Ireland success when he finished second in the Quality Onion All-Ireland Championship at the Virginia Agricultural Show recently.
Those contesting the category in Virginia were chosen for the final at selected shows around Ireland during The summer.
The second place finish is another significant achievement for the Leitrim man, who recorded an 8th All-Ireland win for the McGoldrick family at the Tullamore Show for his potatoes.
Michael along with his late parents has competed in the final for over 31yrs.
The Dromahair man says he loves to fly the flag for Leitrim at the national events, not to mention winning the top prizes on several occasions.
“I am very proud and it is always a great honor to represent Leitrim at national level and keep the Leitrim flag flying,” Michael said following his win at the Tullamore Show.
