Minister for Sport and Tourism, Catherine Martin has officially turned the sod on the new €1.2 million Water Sports Facility at Acres Lake in Drumshanbo.

The development of the new facility, put together by Fáilte Ireland and Leitrim County Council, aims to extend the outdoor tourism season in the area by providing year-round hot showers, changing rooms, toilets, secure storage, and wash down areas.
This is the first of 22 such facilities that are due to be built around the country to enhance the visitor experience and serve as a central hub for outdoor activities.
