Irish Rail have advised customers that a number of changes will be made to train schedules around Ireland on Monday 16th but none in Leitrim.
These changes are amendments to a new timetable that the service implemented in August which led to significant delays around the capital.
The changes which are aimed at improving the punctuality of the services across the country will not affect the departure times in Sligo station, according to Irish Rail.
In August, The Bloombridge Station was added as a stop for all trains heading from Sligo to Dublin. In Bloombridge, travellers now have the option to take the Luas green line which runs into the city centre.
In addition, there are plans to expand the capacity of the Sligo to Dublin route by adding more carraiges to the line.
The current round of changes will not affect the train times or services at Dromod station in Leitrim.
During a national public consultation, which received 1,930 submissions, Irish Rail was told about concerns that there would not be significant staff in Sligo to implement the changes to the line made in August. Irish Rail have said that they are not aware of any staffing issues there.
“We apologise to customers for the punctuality performance since the implementation of the new timetable on Monday 26th August last, with timing issues leading to congestion in the Connolly Station area,” the company said on their website
