Leitrim GAA club is set for major training facility development

St Mary’s Kiltoghert received conditional planning permission to build new training facilities in Carrick-on-Shannon

Sliotars over the fence prompt objections to Mountrath GAA plans

On Wednesday, Leitrim county council granted St Mary’s Kiltoghert GAA club in Carrick-on-Shannon planning permission for a major development of the club's facilities.

The club's application to build three playing pitches, a spectator stand, temporary dressing rooms, along with a car park with road access, on a site off the Cornamucklagh and Summerhill road junction outside of the town, received conditional permission.

The decision came through this week as the club prepares to meet Balinamore Sean O'Heslin's in the Leitrim Senior Championship semi-finals this Saturday.

This makes St Marys Kiltoghert the second Leitrim club to receive permission for a major redevelopment this year, after Carrigallen GAA was granted permission for major changes to their club grounds including the construction of a multipurpose building for indoor training, a detached modular coffee/tea shop, extensions to their training grounds, and ground mounted solar panels.
