Roosky
Leitrim County Council and Roscommon County Council are carrying out ‘The Roosky Bridge Footpath Trial.’
There is currently no designated area for pedestrians to cross Roosky Bridge, despite long-standing efforts advocating for one.
The temporary footbridge will be in place for two weeks from September 23 until October 6.
The trial involves the installation of a temporary footpath using bollards on the existing bridge and temporary traffic signals to control traffic over the bridge to one way flow.
Leitrim County Council in partnership with Roscommon County Council want to hear feedback on the trialled footbridge through online or in person surveys.
Some anticipated benefits of the footbridge are segregating pedestrians from vehicular traffic, enhanced accessibility and providing direct pedestrian access to link the village centre with the residential and community areas east of the River Shannon.
