Drumhierny
Leitrim County Council has granted Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway planning permission for major development of the estates facilities.
Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway, located close to Leitrim Village, attracts visitors from across the country who come to experience its peaceful woodland setting, comfortable lodges, and wellbeing services at the sanctuary.
The site is home to outdoor hot tubs, a sauna, thermal pools and an indoor 14 metre swimming pool.
Drumhierny is about to construct even more appealing facilities following the approval of conditional planning permission.
There are 14 developments being made at the Leitrim sanctuary, including a new therapy suite and constructing a new outdoor plunge pool.
Two outdoor hot tubs and four outdoor seaweed baths will be retained, alongside the children’s play area, car park, access lane and ESB substation building.
Drumhierny’s reception building, existing storage facilities, and coffee shop have successfully received permission to remain for the next five years.
Existing entrance piers and wing walls will be brought into compliance with prior planning approvals, and all associated site works will occur.
The areas surrounding Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway are a protected structure as designated in the Leitrim County Development Plan 2023 - 2029.
This expansion aims to attract even more visitors while ensuring that Drumhierny maintains its serene, nature-focused atmosphere.
