Seana Cuffe, owner of 17-year-old husky, Lady, is still appealing for information after her animal went missing from Leitrim Village on December 7 and is offering a €1000 reward for the dog's return.
Lady is a frail and blind animal with two different coloured eyes, she disappeared during Storm Darragh when a garden fence blew down. At the time, she was wearing a pink jacket.
Leitrim Animal Welfare Centre has said that extensive searches of the area have been carried out on foot and with drones. Lady is microchipped, and all her details are up to date.
There have been a few possible sightings of Lady in Cootehill on Wednesday, December 11. Leitrim Animal Welfare Centre is urging anyone with information to come forward.
“This has been the hardest month of my life not knowing where she is, wondering if she’s being taken care of or lying dead in a ditch somewhere,” Seana shared on Facebook.
“I still feel she is in Leitrim Village myself but we are following up any sightings reported in the hopes she is as much of a determined dog/survivor as she was in her younger days and the adrenaline is keeping her going.”
If you have any information or have spotted Lady, please contact Seana on 086 238 6757 or Leitrim Animal Welfare Centre on 085 864 5366.
The Centre also reminds the public that if you find a stray dog and take it in, it is a legal requirement under the Control of Dogs Act to report the dog to your local dog warden.
