An application has been made to build an extension for an accessible toilet onto the Old Mohill Station House.

A decision from Leitrim County Council will be issued by the 25th of March this year.

The former narrow gauge railway building in Mohill which has been laying semi-derelict and uncared for since 1959 was bought by a group called Mohill Town Team who wanted to restore the building.

It is currently undergoing refurbishment work since the group won a 500,000 grant last year in order to restore the building.

The large typical C&L brick station building which was built in 1887 is deemed a protected structure.
