Glens arts centre
Manorhamilton’s Glens Arts Centre recently hosted a lively fundraising Race Night, bringing in over €2,400 to support crucial upgrades to its in-house equipment.
In an era of financial uncertainty for the arts, the Glens Arts Centre took matters into its own hands, organizing the event at Heraghty’s Bar to help secure match funding for a €10,000 LEADER grant. The funds will go toward much-needed technical improvements at the beloved cultural venue.
The event, which raised €2,425, saw a strong show of support from the local community. The Glens extended its gratitude to all who contributed, with special thanks to sponsors Brenda McMullan, Pat Slevin, W8, Merenda, Dag Carroll, and On The Move Mobile Valet.
Adding to the excitement, the night featured a participatory element that had attendees engaged from start to finish. Among those getting into the spirit of the event was the new Chair of The Glens, Nóirín Clancy, who joined other enthusiastic ‘jockeys’ in the races.
The Glens also acknowledged the invaluable support of Seán Dillon and Glenfarne GAA in helping make the night a success.
With its 30th anniversary approaching in 2026, The Glens Arts Centre has more celebratory events in the pipeline. This latest fundraiser not only helped secure vital funding but also showcased the unwavering community support that continues to sustain the arts in Manorhamilton.
