Permission granted for new classrooms and car park expansion at St Clare's primary school in Manorhamilton
Leitrim county council have granted conditional planning permission for a series of developments at St. Clare’s National School in Manorhamilton.
The planned development includes both retention and removal of existing temporary modular classroom units, along with significant improvements to the permanent school facilities.
The proposal seeks to retain one temporary modular unit, currently in use as a classroom, while another similar unit will be removed. The school also plans to retain changes made to a previously approved extension (P.12-100), including the omission of the originally proposed staff room.
New construction will include single-storey extensions to the existing school building, providing one Special Educational Needs (SEN) classroom, three Special Education Teaching (SET) rooms, an office, and other ancillary spaces to better support the school's educational needs.
The development will also expand the school's car park, creating three additional staff parking spaces.
The plan has been given permission, contingent on ten conditions being satisfied through the process.
