Crumbs Café to become Baptist church in Carrick-on-Shannon this month

A sandwich bar which has been operating in a County Leitrim town for over 20 years has announced its closure.

Crumbs Sandwich Bar on Bridge Street, Carrick-on-Shannon confirmed it would be closing permanently in June 2024.

Now, just over a year later, the former restaurant premises is set for a new lease of life, reopening as a Baptist church this month.

The building will officially become the new home of Carrick Baptist Church from Saturday, August 17.

Planning permission for the change of use was recently granted by Leitrim County Council.

Carrick Baptist Church is currently based at Gaelscoil Liatroma on the Castlecara Road but will relocate to the town centre location this month.

The new church aims to provide a permanent worship space for its growing congregation.
