Classic Cinema is back at The Dock Arts Centre in Carrick-on-Shannon this September, following a short summer break. The monthly film programme offers audiences the chance to experience distinctive, thought-provoking movies in a unique setting.
Kicking off the autumn line-up is On Falling, directed by Laura Carreira. The film delves into the quiet but urgent struggle for meaning in a world dominated by the algorithm-driven gig economy.
The story follows Aurora, a Portuguese migrant working as a warehouse picker in Edinburgh. Caught between the monotony of a vast distribution centre and the solitude of her bedroom, she searches for small acts of resistance against the alienation and isolation threatening her identity.
On Falling will be shown on Wednesday, 3 September, with screenings at 11:30am and 7:00pm. Tickets are priced at €8, with a concession rate of €5. Refreshments will be served at the morning showing.
