Free public talk at Lough Rynn Castle to mark World Suicide Prevention Day

A special free event will take place at Lough Rynn Castle Estate on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at 7pm, to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.

Renowned Chartered Psychologist and author of Moodwatchers, Shane Martin, will deliver a talk titled Your Precious Life: How to Live it Well. The presentation will explore practical ways to develop resilience and inner strength in the face of life’s difficulties.

Drawing on psychology and lived human experience, Martin will share real-life strategies to help people cope with setbacks, disappointment, and sadness. The evening aims to inspire hope and highlight the importance of protecting mental health and wellbeing.

Information tables from local support services will be available on the night, and light refreshments will be served.

Free transport is being provided to and from Manorhamilton, Drumkeerin, Carrick-on-Shannon, Mohill, Carrigallen, and Ballinamore (advance booking required).

The event is supported by Leitrim and West Cavan Social Prescribing, Connecting for Life Sligo and Leitrim, and Breffni Community Development CLG.
