Fenagh Parent and Toddler Group is marking a major milestone this weekend as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The group first began in 2005, set up by local parents with the support of Leitrim County Childcare Committee. Since then, it has been running continuously—apart from a short break during Covid—making it one of the longest-running parent and toddler groups in the county.
Meeting every Friday morning in Fenagh Visitor Centre, the group provides a welcoming space for parents, grandparents, and carers to connect while children enjoy the centre’s soft play facilities. For a nominal fee of €5 per adult, parents can socialise over complimentary tea and coffee, while little ones are treated to toast, fruit, and squash. On average, around 15 families from across south Leitrim attend each week.
To celebrate its two decades of community connection, the group is hosting an anniversary party on Saturday, September 6, from 11am to 2pm in Fenagh Visitor Centre. Past and present members are warmly invited to come along, catch up with old friends, and share memories.
Anyone with photos from their time in the group is encouraged to send them to fenaghvisitorcentre@gmail.com
for display on the day.
