WEATHER WARNING: Snow and Ice Warning issued by Met Eireann

Cllr Enda McGloin said that with winter approaching, ice was a danger to both pedestrians and motorists. "If there is constant ice there, that poses a danger."

Pedestrians and motorists are at risk due to a water leak that will ice over in the coming months in Drumshanbo, Cllr Enda McGloin said during a meeting where he asked the council why the issue hasn't been resolved.

He said that with winter approaching, ice was a danger to both pedestrians and motorists. "If there is constant ice there, that poses a danger."

The official response said that investigations could not identify where the issue was arising at this location and Uisce Eireann have already undertaken a CCTV survey of the main foul sewer at this location with no issues identified. It concluded that it was likely stemming from a wastewater connection which is the responsibility of the customer.

Cllr McGloin stated that the house owner is "adamant that they've checked their side and the council are saying it is not on their side either so there is no solution to this" before adding that with water levels an issue in south Leitrim, "we have to do everything we can to deal with water leaks."

He suggested the homeowner "get a written report from their plumber outlining the investigations they have done on that side and see what more can be done. Leitrim County Council may put further pressure on environment and Uisce Eireann to engage more with this issue. I'm worried about pedestrians and motorists."
