Leitrim school gets planning permission for major sports development

St. Patrick's National School in Drumshanbo is set for major sports development, with permission granted for works.

Leitrim County Council has today granted planning permission for a major sports facility development at St. Patrick's National School in Drumshanbo.

The proposed development will include the provision of a sports facility comprising a soccer pitch with a perimeter fence, incorporating a basketball court, a volleyball court, and a rounders pitch.

The facility will also feature a six-lane, 200-metre running track with perimeter floodlighting and lamp posts. It will include changing, shower, and toilet facilities on site.

The permission also provides for the creation of pedestrian access from the existing pathway located within the adjoining school grounds, as well as connections to all existing services and associated ancillary works.

Leitrim County Council’s approval is conditional upon the fulfilment of 12 other specified conditions.
