Seamus O’Rourke’s Love Hungry Farmer at the Corn Mill Theatre this Christmas

29 December show sold out — final tickets still available for 30 December performance

Seamus O’Rourke’s Love Hungry Farmer at the Corn Mill Theatre this Christmas

Seamus O’Rourke returns to the Corn Mill Theatre this Christmas with Love Hungry Farmer, John B. Keane’s beloved tale of hope, heartache and rural romance. The 29 December performance has already sold out, but audiences still have one final chance to catch the show on 30 December, with limited tickets remaining.

At the centre of the story is John Bosco McLaine — played with O’Rourke’s trademark charm and comic timing — a farmer who has never lain down with a woman but remains stubbornly devoted to the idea of true love. Romantic to the bone and optimistic to a fault, McLaine ignores advice, age, and past failures as he embarks on a determined search for a companion in a community where women are few and opinions are plentiful.

Often described as the natural successor to John B. Keane, O’Rourke embodies Keane’s wit, warmth and rhythm in a performance filled with laughter, longing and the unmistakable humour of rural Ireland.

The show begins at 8pm sharp, with tickets priced at €25. Doors open 30 minutes beforehand, and audiences are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early as latecomers will not be admitted. Tickets may be printed or shown on your phone at the Box Office.

The 29 December show is sold out. Final tickets for the 30 December performance are available now at cornmilltheatre.com.
