Leitrim will be firmly in the national spotlight this weekend as Leitrim Tourism showcases the county at the Holiday World Show, taking place at the RDS Simmonscourt from Friday to Sunday, January 23 to 25.
Now in its 35th year, the Holiday World Show is Ireland’s largest consumer travel exhibition, bringing together more than 1,000 travel professionals from over 50 countries. Leitrim’s presence forms part of a strong national push to promote home holidays in 2026, with Irish visitors increasingly seeking short breaks, nature-based experiences and destinations closer to home.
Leitrim is listed among the Irish counties officially represented at the event, positioning the county alongside major tourism regions nationwide. The show offers a key opportunity to promote Leitrim to a large audience actively planning holidays, with face-to-face engagement allowing visitors to gather trusted advice and inspiration directly from tourism experts.
The focus on sustainability and slower, experience-led travel also aligns closely with what Leitrim has to offer, from its waterways and walking trails to its reputation for peaceful escapes and outdoor adventure. Organisers say this type of direct, personal interaction continues to be a major draw for people planning their travel in an increasingly digital world.
Holiday World Show organiser Maria Hourican said the event has evolved over the years but remains rooted in the value of real conversation and trusted information when it comes to travel planning.
Promotional images from the show also highlight the spirit of exploration being encouraged, including 11-year-old twins Eoin and Jack Hourican, pictured as young adventurers helping to promote the sense of discovery and family-friendly travel experiences on offer across Ireland.
Holiday World Show Dublin opens to the public from 12.30pm to 5pm on Friday, January 23, and continues from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, January 24 and 25.
