Planning permission granted for 27-acre solar farm in Leitrim

Leitrim County Council has granted planning permission for a solar farm on a 27-acre site in south Leitrim.

Sollugh Ltd have received conditional permission to build a 10MW solar farm development in Mullanadarragh near Carrigallen over the next ten years.

The project will comprise the construction of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic panels, String Invertors located on solar tables, three containerised medium voltage cabins with switch gear, protection equipment and transformers.

It also allows for a 20kV substation to be constructed and the creation of a UGC grid connection to Carrigallen 38kV substation in the public road, as well as a spare parts storage container.

The permission also grants permission for the construction of site access tracks, all ancillary works such as fencing, CCTV, and drainage infrastructure.

According to the application, the site will have an operational life of 40 years.

The permission from Leitrim County Council is contingent on 20 conditions being completed.
