Leitrim house prices saw a significant increase in 2025 while the number of new addresses registered in the county fall from 2024

Number of new home in Leitrim drop as property prices jump 15% in 2025

There were over 100 new residential address points recorded in Leitirm in 2025, while house prices jumped over 28,000 in the year, according to the GeoDirectory Residential Buildings Report.

Each residential address point represents a new residential dwelling in the county, with Leitrim making up only 105 of the total of 35,056 new residential address points registered across Ireland in 2025.

This indicates a drop in the number of residential addresses added in Leitrim compared to 2024, when there were 150 residential addresses according to GeoDirectory. 

Naturally, Dublin accounted for the largest proportion of new residential address points with 11,966 new additions, followed by Cork (3,761), Kildare (3,107), Louth (1,892), and Meath (1,761).

Meanwhile, a total of 335 residential property transactions were recorded in Leitrim in the twelve months to November 2025, according to CSO data, with only 7.8% of these transactions involving new dwellings.

In Leitrim, the average residential property price jumped €28,562 (15%) during that period to €218,507.

Despite this, it remains among the lowest house prices in the county behind Donegal (€215,554) and Longford (€206,583). 

Leitrim was not alone in this, with the national average house price increasing by 6.6% to €427,937.

Residential property prices were highest in Dublin (€588,649), Wicklow (€501,881) and Kildare (€443,164). These were the only three counties where the average house price exceeded the national average.

The report also indicated that there were 156 residential buildings classified as under construction in Leitrim in December 2025.
